TAKE A HIKE!

October 1, 2015

Not exactly the first words you want to hear on a hot date.

Want your date to go off without a ditch? We’ve compiled a few tips so your hiking date ain’t no uphill battle.

Just say no… to hiking on the first date.

Unless you know the person, hikes are often in rural areas. Safety says only go once you feel comfortable being alone (potentially very alone) with that person. Here’s our popular (and populated) hike suggestions perfect for your next date.

Dolla’ dolla’ bills, ya’ll!

Bring em. Lots of trails sneak in a parking fee – and you can often only pay in cash! Forget to stash that cash in the envelope as they request and mark my words – YOU WILL GET A TICKET.

As the boy scouts say – be prepared!

Don’t let your hike take a turn for the worse when  you don’t know the trail. Some quick research ahead of time can stop you from getting stuck on 8-miles of death with your date, instead of the 2.5-mile stroll you’d intended.

Hydrate – and bring extra.

When you’re working up a sweat, nothing feels better than guzzling some cool H20! Nothing feels worse than when you run out mid-hike. Don’t let your hot date overheat – they’ll thank you when you pull out that extra bottle to quench their thirst.

SUNSCREEN!

Nothing says sexy like safe skin.

Stash some snacks.

Don’t be a sucker to low blood sugar. A protein bar or two can save your demeanor and your date! And a snack break can give you a nice excuse for a breather to take in the view (insert perfect time to use that pick-up line).
